Same issue on a dual core dell. Nothing extra installed. Upgrade from Gusty. Don't use evolution. No wireless. I have other issues with networking that are annoying. The nm-applet is constantly spinning and sometimes it takes 10-15 minutes to get a solid DHCP connection.
