The problem is still there, in Gutsy Final 7.10 (tested Kubuntu, but is
the same). Please reopen the bug.

Booting from CD (Kubuntu desktop CD) you get a "signal out of range" in every 
monitor you test it (tested with a Q995 19" Tube monitor and a M17GKA 17" TFT 
monitor.
As I said before, Xorg configures it to the max possible refresh the card 
supports, without having into account the refresh supported by the monitor.

Althought the card is quite old (from year 2000 I suppose), it is very
used on old PC configurations.

I attach Xorg.log and kern.log for info.
