The problem is still there, in Gutsy Final 7.10 (tested Kubuntu, but is the same). Please reopen the bug.
Booting from CD (Kubuntu desktop CD) you get a "signal out of range" in every monitor you test it (tested with a Q995 19" Tube monitor and a M17GKA 17" TFT monitor. As I said before, Xorg configures it to the max possible refresh the card supports, without having into account the refresh supported by the monitor. Althought the card is quite old (from year 2000 I suppose), it is very used on old PC configurations. I attach Xorg.log and kern.log for info. ** Attachment added: "XServer log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/12921265/Xorg.0.log -- S3 trio 3D/2X video problems https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/88955 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
