If you look at the top bar, it says something like: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Settings | X Version | Help | Sign out
If X==Older, you're using the newer version if X==Newer you're using the older version. The newer version is almost a complete backend rewrite with few user- visible changes. Also, I didn't specify this before, but I tried this on a clean profile and in safe mode. Also (less pertinent here) it's present in both the linux and windows versions.
