@exactt: Nope, it's not falling back to anything for us. We don't get any picture. The screen remains black (It's still transmitting a signal though, because my monitor doesn't say "No signal") and the only way to escape is by either manually cycling the system's power, or sending a SysRq (SysRq + B reboots... It doesn't unmount anything before, so I don't know if it's much safer, but it's got to be better than pulling out the power from under your system, right?).
Anyway, not a duplicate.
