I have seen posts where users on the Dell Inspiron 1501 have issues with
"Black Screens" during boot process- causing a hang. This isn't really
an issue for me, I press 'Alt-F1' and wait for the login screen to post.
I have also experienced the black screen hang-up before figuring out to
switch to TTY1. Switching to TTY1 during boot solves the problem. If I
forget to do this, sometimes I experience the black screen also, but not
always. Just a weird quirk...
