SOLVED ! Sometimes, basic things are useful :) In my case, the problem was related to the groups my username belongs to. I added the following groups and Amarok works like a charm: adm, admin, audio, cdrom, dialout, dip, fax, floppy, fuse, lpadmin, netdev, plugdev, powerdev, scanner, tape, video.
