Thank you very much for these informations. I changed the title and description to reflect the real problem. Since this bug is caused by blacklisted vesafb by default, I'm not sure if it should be set as invalid but I will let developers decide since they know this part better than I.
** Summary changed: - [hardy] usplash colors got corrupted since last update + [hardy] usplash colors are corrupted with vesafb ** Changed in: usplash (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium => Low ** Description changed: ubuntu version : DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=8.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=hardy DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu hardy (development branch)" Linux chameau 2.6.24-11-generic #1 SMP Fri Feb 29 21:26:31 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux [0300]: ATI Technologies Inc RS485 [Radeon Xpress 1100 IGP] [1002:5975] (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) usplash ver. 0.5.15 I had a custom usplash made under gutsy but this is also reproducible with the default ubuntu usplash theme. Since my upgrade to hardy, the shutdown usplash disappeared, and since yesterday's update, it is back but with corrupted colors. I noticied that in hardy they were a lot of nice new features in usplash that also apply to older usplash-themes, and maybe there is a palette change imposed for the shutdown, that in my opinion should not be elsewhere thant in the c file that produces the usplash. (and not general) + Update: This bug only happens with vesafb enabled. + Regards. -- Z. -- [hardy] usplash colors are corrupted with vesafb https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/197937 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
