I get the same result unless I add the user using virt-manager to kvm group. If that is done or if the machine to be created is not fully virtualized the error doesn't occur... The referred user is already added to libvirtd group... This shouldn't be needed and should be seen as a show stopper because it only allows to create virtual machines that are not fully virtualized.
