Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.24
The Realtec 8111C is integrated in the Giga-Byte G31M-S2L motherboard. Ubuntu 8.04 beta will usually not find the Ethernet interface. When it does, it stops working with any traffic. This bug has been reported in earlier versions (Gutsy) and persists, even in the newer Linux kernel (2.6.24). Workarounds are available by recompiling with the correct Realtek Linux driver (from their website) however, these are wiped out with every application of the Ubuntu Update Manager. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- r8169 Driver not stable with Realtek 8111C https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/205374 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
