Public bug reported: Binary package hint: hal
When logging in, the my Broadcom BCM94311MCG wlan mini-PCI wireless card (drivers installed with ndiswrapper) doesn't connect. It keeps trying to connect, but doesn't succeed. If I try to disable networking by right- clicking the tray icon, the checkbox clears, but it still keeps trying to connect. Networking isn't actually disabled until I restart nm- applet. I have been informed in the forums (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=731897) that the problem is with hal, libhal1 and/or libhal-storage1, and those packages were updated twice the last time my wireless connection was working: 21 March, 2008, 20:06 hal (0.5.10+git20080301-1ubuntu2) to 0.5.11~rc2-1ubuntu1 hal-info (20080215-1ubuntu2) to 20080317+git20080318-1ubuntu1 libhal-storage1 (0.5.10+git20080301-1ubuntu2) to 0.5.11~rc2-1ubuntu1 libhal1 (0.5.10+git20080301-1ubuntu2) to 0.5.11~rc2-1ubuntu1 21 March, 2008, 23:41 hal (0.5.11~rc2-1ubuntu1) to 0.5.11~rc2-1ubuntu2 libhal-storage1 (0.5.11~rc2-1ubuntu1) to 0.5.11~rc2-1ubuntu2 libhal1 (0.5.11~rc2-1ubuntu1) to 0.5.11~rc2-1ubuntu2 ** Affects: hal (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Hardy: latest version of hal, libhal1 and/or libhal-storage1 causing wireless to stop working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/205355 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
