I to am having this exact problem, with Hardy Herrin 8.04 beta, system time is accelerated, animations on sites is faster, videos run fast, the please wait mouse cursor animates fast, the time in seconds moves about 3 times the normal rate.
I have upgraded from an updated clean install of 7.10 and am running the OS within VMWare server on my 7.10 ubuntu real install. my real desktop (7.10) keeps the time perfectly, but the virtual machine (8.04) has this problem, I'm not sure if this is related to VMware, but I know a guy in their tech support centre and will hit him for some free support and see if he's heard of this on any other OS implementation. it's a pretty cool looking error though. everything sped up and all. I looked at the links above which are about time synchronization, it's not about the clock running fast (which it does also), it's more like the kernel component that keeps timing isn't working right. like when you run an old 386 dos game on a pentuim 4 system. anyway, if this is a big deal I can give you the VMware image. Otherwise 8.04 is freakin' sweet, good work everyone. -- Time ticks faster than normal and videos play way too fast https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/38943 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
