I'm unable to boot using kernel version vmlinuz-2.6.24-12-generic in
linux-image-2.6.24-12-generic.
it stops around this point..

I was able to boot using server image, vmlinuz-2.6.24-12-server but it very
slow. almost takes 15 minutes to start.
Desktop load but it is almost unusable. Slower than my old p3 450 Mhz.
Had to restore the previous version of kernel and kernel headers from
backup which is vmlinuz-2.6.22-14-generic and works perfectly.
Some History:
I have 4 GB of RAM. Current kernel 2.6.22 shows only 3.3 GB . So, my
objective was to install a kernel which support 64GB RAM so that 4 GB
is completely used. So, i started of downloading the latest stable
version and tried multiple versions in 2.6.24. All of them failed
rendering my system unbootable.
Then, i decided that by upgrading to 8.04 I will get a tested kernel
2.6.24. But this failed as well.
Tried turning of Dual core and running on single core. Makes no
difference. the 386 kernel works simple fine but it wont address the 4GB
RAM problem.
Attaching some kernel logs to check.
