Hmm, there still hasn't been any progress made upstream and it seems like that's the definitive source (unless the kernel's bugzilla is badly maintained), so I doubt Hardy Alpha would have made any strides in solving this. And I've confirmed the problem in Gutsy, so I think we're far from closing this.
