$ ls /etc/init.d/kd*

$ ls /etc/init.d/kd* | wc -l
1

And, from what I mentioned near the top of the report, I don't know.  I
do see references to kde3 in the file, so yes?  I haven't mucked about
with it, just installed from the Hardy alpha 6 install CD, Kubuntu-kde4.
