Are you sure this is kdm-kde4 you are running? As far as I know the
Kubuntu-KDE4 CD comes with KDM from KDE3. Unless something has changed
recently, if it's Kubuntu themed, it's kdm from kde3.
Also, are you using the nvidia proprietary driver?
