Hi

This is a bit of a "bump", but the bug is still there in rc3.

IMO, OO is one of the most important apps in Ubuntu, and something like
this just wipes away confidence. However, I think that it may be a
64-bit problem, so can be solved (for now) by not using the *very*
experimental 64-bit OOo.

There are slightly similar bugs reported by those experimenting with
64-bit OOo builds on Gentoo, so the problem is probably upstream.

It would be better to package a working 32-bit OOo with 64-bit 6.10 than
a broken 64-bit version.  The former would make for a useful install;
the latter would confirm (to some) that Ubuntu does not rate AMD-64 as a
serious install target.

>From Gentoo to SUSE, 64-bit users are given working systems using a mix
of 64-bit and 32-bit apps, and that is fine. There is no point in being
silly about it. 64-bit Firefox is silly because it cannot use Flash nor
RealPlayer plugins. 64-bit OOo is silly if it does not work!
