Never mind - Somehow (and I swear I didn't do it!) 'Run Command 0' and 'Run Command 1' in CompizConfig Settings-->general-->Commands tab were set to 'Alt' and 'Ctrl' respectively. I did have some custom short-cut keys defined before upgrading to Hardy, so perhaps they got mangled somehow.
