You can mark it as fixed now I guess.

Today I found a solution to this "bug." It turns out that the high pitch sound 
can be (and in my case it was) the result of CPU trying to save power.

The solutions offered there didn't quite work for me, but then I found this:

In this topic there's a post by 'yopnono' which says:

'Put this in the /etc/rc.local script, and reboot.
echo 2 > /sys/module/processor/parameters/max_cstate
Were the number is the state you like to use.'

Number 2 worked for me but as I understand you may solve the beeping
with a higher number too. It depends on your CPU.
