I can confirm that brightness control still is'nt working on my 12 powerbook with ubunti edgy fully updated as of today. Using Fn+F1/F2 I just get the shiny gtkpbbutons slider to move but with no effect whatsoever on display brightness. Using fblevel I get this error message: ioctl PMU_IOC_SET_BACKLIGHT: No such device
It should be noted that with gentoo linux on the same laptop brightness control works perfectly with gentoo-sources (any version from 2.6.14, the first I tried).
