Re-opening. I'll add a REPRODUCE section to the description.
** Changed in: compiz (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided => Medium
Status: Invalid => Triaged
** Description changed:
Binary package hint: compiz
With "Legacy Fullscreen Support" enabled for the compiz workaround plugin,
starting "oocalc" makes it fullscreen (above the taskbar even), without any
window decorations.
Turning off this particular workaround fixes it.
I've now tried to debug this, by
1. installing compiz-fusion-plugins-main from hardy (compiled on gutsy)
2. changed xorg.conf settings (commented out "special performance options"),
mainly because of testing for another bug
Now that I've re-installed the compiz-fusion-plugins-main package from gutsy
and having reverted to the previous xorg.conf, the behaviour has changed, but
is still weird:
- When opening oocalc, the window is too high (the status bar is not visible
- it gets the height of the full desktop, minus the taskbar), but window
decorations are there and it's not full-width.
- Most times (19 out of 20 times maybe), the "The document has been modified.
Do you want to save your changes?" dialog becomes fullscreen (without window
borders) now. (Process: I press alt-f4 to close oocalc, it displays the dialog
(fullscreen in most cases), I hit escape ("Cancel"), then press alt-f4 again.)
- I'm using Kubuntu Gutsy.
+ I'm using Kubuntu Gutsy. Confirmed for Kubuntu Hardy, too.
+
+ TO REPRODUCE:
+ 1. enable the "Legacy Fullscreen Support" in ccsm
+ 2. start oocalc. It needs to get started fullscreen, so if it starts
windowed, maximize it and exit it (through the File menu worked, to save the
state).
+ 3. Repeat 2, until it gets started maximized
+
+ Now, if oocalc got started maximized, the window decorations should be
+ missing ("outside" of the screen)
