Either it's safe to show the length of a password, or it isn't. If it
is, this bug can be fixed by getting sudo to show asterisks. If it
isn't, then it's a bug in gksu and PolicyKit that they show bullets.

Either way, I think the right place to fix this is in sudo itself, not
in a terminal introduction that might be scrolled away into oblivion by
the time you first use sudo. If it's not safe to show the length of a
password, then sudo *and* gksu *and* PolicyKit should explain that your
typing won't be shown, and all of them should provide alternative
feedback (e.g. showing a momentary symbol each time you press a key).
