Thank you for this patch, quite an improvement. However I disagree with the point of view of Keenan, I think the big issue is that the gnome brightness setting is still not synchronized with the hardware setting (set with the keyboard).
This is pretty confusing for the user to set brightness to 100% with the keyboard, and that every time g-p-m is doing some action, it resets it to, let's say, 50%. Both should be synchronized, there should be a unique way to set the system brightness. It is less annoying if you use the brightness applet, because it seems to prevent g-p-m to take over the hardware setting. But again my point of view is that such an applet should even not exist : there are 3 now ways to set the brightness !!! And also, using 14 Mo of RAM for a usability workaround is not acceptable. -- Backlight no longer under my control on battery https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131885 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
