The machine is question works fine for dapper - the sunfire x4100 I think. The driver was included in the dapper kernel in the very last release before the final release. This was ages ago and while the controller doesn't work if you put it in mirrored mode, in JBOD mode with software raid was just fine.
Please resolve as its pretty irrelevant seeing as hardy is coming out soon enough and we will have another LTS release.
