Thank you Scott for kind advice! But it did not work, there was no 
Monitor/LCD named Benq PF95G in the list. I tried to select something 
starting on PF 95, 951 to be precise. The hole system locked, had to 
restart by brute force. Also, kdesu nvidia-settings with lowest possible 
resolution  and refresh <auto> led to lock of the system when trying to 
get Firefox working. I had to use brute force to get it up running 
again. So possibly I have to reload the system or try another 64 bits 
distro to get around the problem.
