randon: why did you change metacity to gtk-window-decorator? The latter
is just responsible to draw borders and titlebar under *compiz*. If you
want to disable 3d effects and use gnome, you most likely want metacity
there. Then, the program must be running when you rotate the screen (try
launching that from a terminal and letting it open). If that works, you
can add the program to your session.
