The original debian maintainer of libm17n is MIA, so Harshula, who also packaged the -contrib, -docs and -db packages, took it over and is currently working on packaging the latest upstream version. So, it seems we still have to wait a week or two until we have up-to-date packages.
I hope this waiting time is acceptable, if not, we'll have to discuss what to do.
