Public bug reported: I found no other way to install ubuntu i386 on hp 6715b notebook then to add acpi=off parameter to kernel. Without that parameter, installed ubuntu system never finishes booting to multiuser GUI mode and booting to single mode takes dozens of minutes stalling on:
