I have nearly the same problem. I have just installed Kubuntu 8.04 and I have all packages updated. My printer is HP LaserJet 1200. So I run hp-setup, choose USB, then my printer model appears - I choose it and click Next button. But the program doesn't respond and I get the following output: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/hplip/ui/setupform.py", line 258, in showPage self.updatePPDPage() File "/usr/share/hplip/ui/setupform.py", line 541, in updatePPDPage ppds = cups.getSystemPPDs() File "/usr/share/hplip/prnt/cups.py", line 243, in getSystemPPDs path = os.path.join(cups_ppd_path, ppd) File "/usr/lib/python2.5/posixpath.py", line 62, in join elif path == '' or path.endswith('/'): AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'endswith'
