Hi there, I'm suffering a similar bug of loosing windows, for example if you only open the gnome-terminal and click on the "always visible window" option, and then move the window to another desktop. You can move the window to far from the screen so that you lose it. This bug can be repeated easily. Then all you can do is kill the gnome-terminal, you just loosed. It's not exactly the same bug but it might be related.
I'm using a fresh installed ubuntu 7.10 gutsy with compiz 0.6.1, and just started working with it, I notice this little bug, while it's not a very important bug if you care about it while moving window, it can become very annoying for "Human beings".
