Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-mount I'm using a LUKS encrypted ext2 partitition on an usb stick to store some data. I expect following: After sticking in, gnome-mount opens a dialog (like [1]) where it asks the passphrase, after that it mounts the luksOpened cleartext-mapper. What happens: nothing visuable. In /dev/disk/by-uuid there is a symlink created to the LUKS partition on my stick. gvm.log shows, that gnome-volume-manager recognizes an encrypted volume, but nothing more happens. How I got some maybe useful data to debug: Followed instructions in [2], gvm.log, udev.log, lshal.txt, dmesg.txt and devices.txt will be there as attachements. id: uid=1000(thorsten) gid=1000(thorsten) Gruppen=4(adm),20(dialout),24(cdrom),25(floppy),29(audio),30(dip),44(video),46(plugdev),108(lpadmin),113(admin),1000(thorsten),1001(scard),1003(vboxusers) id haldaemon: uid=110(haldaemon) gid=122(haldaemon) Gruppen=122(haldaemon) uname -a: Linux molybdaen 2.6.24-8-generic #1 SMP Thu Feb 14 20:13:27 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux /etc/lsb-release: DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=8.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=hardy DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu hardy (development branch)" gnome-mount is version 0.7-2ubuntu1.
