I don't think it's a bug in gnome-panel anymore, but in gnome-keyring, because of the following.
I managed to reproduce it by being connected at reboot via ethernet, then removing the ethernet cable so that the password prompt window appeared. At this point I tried to attach gdb, but I could not send keyboard input to an open console when I selected it - all keyboard input went to the gnome-keyring window, no matter where the mouse pointer was or what I clicked on. Oddly, the mouse clicks seemed to work - perhaps this is why the gnome-panel menu title indicates it is selected (eg the 'Places' text will go into reverse text when you click on it, but no menu actually appears). This was in Gutsy (although with kernel 2.6.24-8) with these versions of gnome-keyring: ii gnome-keyring 2.20-0ubuntu4 GNOME keyring services (daemon and tools) ii gnome-keyring-manager 2.20.0-0ubuntu2 keyring management program for the GNOME des ii libgnome-keyring0 2.20-0ubuntu4 GNOME keyring services library ii libpam-gnome-keyring 2.20-0ubuntu4 GNOME keyring services PAM module -- gnome-panel freezes during keyring password entry https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/189777 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
