I hate to do this to you, but we cannot sync this now due to the fact we
are past feature freeze and this new package has a lot of API/ABI
changes. If you would have subscribed the Ubuntu-Universe-Sponsors when
you filed this report, you would have been able to get this in. Since
you didn't, we can't go through with the sync from Debian.

However, this isn't totally devastating news because you can still get
this in if you convince the right people. What you need to do is file a
Feature Freeze Exception Report. In this case, you will need to come up
with some really good reasons as to why this should be in Hardy. Word of
the wise, find some Debian bugs this fixes, as there is only 1 other
Ubuntu bug besides this report. Also list some of the important upstream
bugs that were fixed maybe.

The rules for filing a Feature Freeze Exception Report for a package
located in the Universe repository can be found at
https://wiki.kubuntu.org/FreezeExceptionProcess#head-
9523bc4076ff011324d67cddc97969ec609618d6

Read that over thoroughly and just create a new bug report for it. All
is not lost, but I will admit that filing an FFe can be tedious and time
consuming, so take an hour or so and work one up.

I apologize once again, but you still have a chance on getting the
latest version in Hardy by filing the report. Thanks and good luck. If
you need any help, don't hesitate to ask. You can even find me on IRC as
nixternal if you need help, or even #ubuntu-motu if you need some help,
you can ask anyone in there. Thanks again!
