Was the error: "BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 11s" ? Strange, looking at the source code, it appears that you should probably also have a dump of the processor registers and a stack dump too. Without this information it is almost impossible to work out why the lockup is occurring. A soft lockup message is generally caused by driver code (IDE/SATA/NIC?) that processes hardware interrupts for more than 10 seconds without rescheduling other threads.
If you see this error one should also see a stack dump too - if so, can you send a dmesg log of this. Thanks -- BUG in kernel 2.6.24-7?
