Hi hggdh, I agree with you. If we create (or receive) a new file, for example, with a new mime-type and an unknown extension, we should be able to mail it anyway. I think any patch should be in the sense of not crashing if mime-type is not recognized.
One other thing I would like to understand was how mime-types got misconfigured on my system anyway... I found out ~/.mime.types was irrelevant. Removing and fixing this file did not solved the issue. It is created by CrossOver Office but CXOffice work without it anyway. Not having this file makes no difference as far as I can see. And /etc/mime- types and /usr/share/mime.cache need root privileges to be changed.
