Tomorrow (March 6) is a Hug day dedicated to kernel bugs. This is be the
occasion to try and investigate this bug. I won't be able to attend, but
i hope that someone will (This is the main point of my message ;-)

I have reported Bug #144100 (check it, it has all the debug info), which
i have marked later as duplicate of this one. The usb drive i was using
then did not even mount. I have now another drive, it mounts but
randomly disconnects. Disabling ehci_hcd is the only workaround.

I've tried echo -n -1 > /sys/module/usbcore/parameters/autosuspend with
no luck.

Hardy Alpha 5 doesn't fix the problem either.

Why is this bug marked as "Won't fix" ?
