I think this bug is fixed. I booted and did shut down ten times with the splash screen and everything worked fine. (problem is that the bug did not show up at every shutdown in my case)
Further: I have no clue if I am using this new PSB driver from Intel (I assume Ubuntu 7.10 fixed this for me).
