+1. Issue still present in Hardy live-current 3-2 iso. When introducing a user to xUbuntu (ex. if they have an older laptop not capable enough for gnome), this adds an additional step for configuring the device for best use; some sort of power management utility needs to be installed by default in xUbuntu.
