Well, it looks like a touchpad problem.  I can't tell if the touchpad
has crapped out, or gotten wet--any spilled drinks?  Sometimes the
ribbon cable to the touchpad gets loose.

Grab yourself a USB mouse and plug that in and see if you can regain
control.  Try turning off the touchpad in BIOS.

It's possible that the real-time kernel is not happy with the touchpad
driver.  This would be a bug.

A work-around is to try a regular kernel version of Ubuntu.  You want
something that says x686 or generic.  Is there a reason you need real-
time on a laptop?

You can select a different mouse driver in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
