Hey man, Looks like your drivers are a bit messed up, that's why ubuntu is defaulting to the lowest, but safest setting. To fix this, try installing envy:
http://albertomilone.com/ubuntu/nvidia/scripts/legacy/envy_0.9.10-0ubuntu4_all.deb After you got it installed, go to Applications - System tools - envy. Tell it to install the latest ATI driver, be patient while it works it's magic, and then let it save changes and reboot. Let me know how it goes for you. PS. You should use forums.ubuntu.com next time for asking questions like these. This isn't really a "bug". -- Ubuntu starts in low graphics mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/197811 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
