Thanks for your submission. Were you running Feisty before and it worked correctly--shutting down to power off?
If Feisty shut down, but gutsy hangs on shutdown, then this would be a regression. Your dmesg output looks like the computer was trying to access the CDROM drive and floppy. Did you remove any floppies or CDROM just before shutdown? If so, and you did not use the Right-Click, Eject option, that could put the mount point in an locked state. The computer was waiting for the CD/Floppy to be returned before continuing shutdown. If you are running from the Live CD, you will get a small message at the bottom, "Remove the CD then hit RETURN to continue" This should shut the machine down completely. If you don't hit return, the computer may just sit there. ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Incomplete -- Gutsy hangs on shutdown with blinking cursor https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/197583 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
