I think is not the same bug #194719. Gnome applet detect correctly
current state (AC or Battery), it fails with time remaining and it does
not know when the battery is near to empty (only BIOS alarm alerts you)
.

I Send again requested reports. Now Laptop (IBM Thinkpad X41) is in
battery mode and gnome applet indicator shows:

11 hours 50m remaining (39%)

acpi -b   shows:

 Battery 1: discharging, 36%, 00:44:55 remaining

hal-find-by-capability --capability "battery"
