My patched kernel: linux-image-2.6.24-11-generic_2.6.24-11.17_i386.deb
Original kernel: linux-image-2.6.24-11-generic_2.6.24-11.17_i386.deb Diff Between original and Patched (dpkg -I): --------------------------------- 2c2 < size 19898144 bytes: control archive= 75223 bytes. --- > size 19990414 bytes: control archive= 77536 bytes. 14c14 < Installed-Size: 66736 --- > Installed-Size: 64260 --------------------------------------------- To Gert Kulyk, I can understand your argument as an default option, but any way to avoid this default behavior? /etc/apt/preferences pin, pin- priority,.. is ignored I think, lock linux-image in synaptic does nothing. And sometimes it has advantages retain same version (for example with the kernel, otherwise it would be necessary to recompile linux-restricted-modules, linux-ubuntu-modules, ...) and it is complicated.
