Late in the boot sequence the 2.6.24 series kernels (2.6.24-8, 2.6.24-10) start
the CDrom drive on my Panasonic CF-W4 laptop. The CDrom is switched off in the
BIOS settings, and can usually be activated by shifting a slider.
Under 2.6.20 and older kernels the drive stayed switched off.
This issue is important for power saving concerns.
OS: Hardy, daily updated with aptitude, as of 29. Feb. 08
