Hi,
I have the same problem as Eythian.
I use the version "Fail2Ban v0.6.0"

I have solved that problem with following trick.
(Quick and dirty ;-)

###########
cat /dev/null > /var/log/auth.log
cat /dev/null > /var/log/fail2ban.log

/etc/init.d/fail2ban restart
###########

Before you "flush" the auth.log and fail2ban.log, make a copy !!!! ;-)

After that, fail2ban is running wel.

Best regards
Michael Schleicher
