Hello, I recently started seeing these errors in /var/log/messages which correlated with a brief outage in my wireless signal. This error only seemed to happen while downloading larger files for more than five seconds:
ipw2100: Fatal interrupt. Scheduling firmware restart. I'm running Gutsy on an older Toshiba Satellite m35, kernel 2.6.22-14-generic. This wireless card is only capable of 802.11b and my access point is a Linksys WRT54GS firmware v1.50.6. I have no encryption on the network, just wireless MAC filtering. Going off of what someone else mentioned, I went into the Linksys admin and disabled Frame Burst under Wireless-->Advanced Wireless settings. After my router restarted, the problem seemed to go away. I'm now able to download large files continuously without getting that error and without any interruption to my wireless signal. -- ipw2100 error Fatal interrupt.
