Let us take an example of one second: 'one second' written in the form with a digit and the symbol 's' is correctly written '1 s' [one space s].
When you boot the Ubuntu installation CD, you are given several options of whether you want to boot into the live CD or to install Ubuntu or... But before you press any cursor keys, the countdown timer on the left side of these options is counting down. This countdown timer should be programmed in the way to display a space between the digit and the symbol 's'.
