I'm also having the same problem when trying the live CD , i tried the alternate installation and get the same error also , tried to find a solution on ubuntu forums but didn't get any answer from there , here is the link : http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=685674 My laptop is Dell inspiron 6400 with broadcom wireless card on it. I'm afraid this problem continue in the final release of hardy heron so we will not be able to install it at all.
