Bastian, Please run:
groups and post the output. If this output does not include "scanner", go to System -> Admin - > Users and Groups, click on manage groups, double click on scanner, then put a checkbox next to your username, save everything log out of all your user sessions, log back in and try to scan. Till, For some reason the users aren't being added to the "scanner" group by default. I'm assuming they should be? Thanks!
