As I said, I just found the solution posted above on a forum and it fixed my problem automagically:
dpkg --force-remove-reinstreq --remove language-pack-kde-en You can close this issue if anyone else has found this problem... btw I guess that it's not language-pack-specific, it can happen with any package (perhaps a broken aptitude update).
