This kind of thing amazes me. This bug is present to some extent in all operating systems. There are several Linux fixes out, and all of them have issues... There is no Vista fix I am aware of. There is not even discussion of this in MAC forums, but it could be because Apple has not speced any of the problem drives yet. However, this is all Ubuntu's fault... There is an old quote attributed to Ronald Reagan, Harry S. Truman, and even Machiavelli... "It's amazing what you can accomplish when you don't care who gets the credit."
